people say that

"letting go doesn't mean giving up. it means moving on. it is one of the hardest things a person can do. starting at birth, we grasp on to anything we can get our hands on, and hold on as if we will cease to exist when we let go. we feel that letting go is giving up, quitting, and that as we all know is cowardly. but as we grow older we are forced to change our way of thinking. we are forced to realize that letting go means accepting things that cannot be. it means maturing and moving on, no matter how hard you have to fight yourself to do so."

we went for the exhibition on the quest for immortality jst a wk ago. chanced past fort canning and in we went for a stroll and took this pic(: in fact i enjoyed the stroll more thn the exhibition. well, maybe a bit more cos i love going for exhibitions. but its been a while since we had taken strolls like that. so slow, in our own world, in a historical site with the memorial plaques ard which so aroused my curiosity. no one would so willingly walk the memory lane with me like you did. anw back t the exhibition, it was awesome. t think we thought we were going t be disappointed cos all we saw were sphinxes, vessels, jewellery, sculptures etc whn what we rlly wanted t see was the mummy itself. and as we thought we were at the end of the exhibition, we finally saw it. honestly speaking, there was a sense of eeriness but at the same time, the fascination seemed so much more than that. i was and am still very amazed by the egyptians' knowledge and meticulousness while preserving the deceased. and i like the way they define the passing on of someone as a passage to afterlife. the mummification becomes a celebration of the moving on of the deceased. well executed and beautifully presented.

haha seems like a review of the exhibition. but i think its worth a visit(:

and happy mthsary darling(:
