"letting go doesn't mean giving up. it means moving on. it is one of the hardest things a person can do. starting at birth, we grasp on to anything we can get our hands on, and hold on as if we will cease to exist when we let go. we feel that letting go is giving up, quitting, and that as we all know is cowardly. but as we grow older we are forced to change our way of thinking. we are forced to realize that letting go means accepting things that cannot be. it means maturing and moving on, no matter how hard you have to fight yourself to do so."

well, 3 more days and i will be leaving this wonderful heaven for hell. and so many things happened before 2004 come to an end. the biggest one will have to be the tsunami that took away lives of more than 80,000 and still counting. countdown parties in malaysia are mostly cancelled and the broadcast of the 2005 countdown party at sentosa is also cancelled, no fireworks, no nothing. it's really sad, so many died. i really have to say that i am so so fortunate to be living in singapore, healthy and still kicking. many in sri lanka, indonesia, thailand, and many more other asian countries are homeless, parent-less, have no food, nothing left but mess. it's really scary, i can't imagine myself stuck there, with all my family, friends separated, i would rather die.
but luckily, many countries are trying to help, sending rescue teams, medical teams, food, blankets, clothes, most importantly, money. i think, what i can do is only donate money, necessary items. my mum's going to donate some blankets, clothes and some money. although it's little, but at least we can help some of them. restoration work's going to take years, many things have to be done. but for now, it's time to do what we can and give what we can. what say you? |
